Hydrogen tracking is included on every plan from $199 a month. That’s PixelRelay Growth: 5,000 orders a month, all 11 destinations, and one npm package your developer installs in about 10 minutes. Three other Shopify tracking apps list headless support on plans from $199 to $499 a month; the $199 one includes 1,500 orders.
On a Hydrogen store, the official channel-app pixels run on Shopify’s checkout and thank-you page only. Everything before checkout happens in your own React app, where they don’t load.
| Shopper moment | Official channel apps | PixelRelay |
|---|---|---|
| Checkout and thank-you page | Seen — pixels run, and the server-side purchase sync keeps working | Seen — PixelRelay’s checkout pixel and Shopify’s order record |
| Page views and product views | Missed — the storefront is your own app | Sent from your storefront through /api/relay on your own domain |
| Add to cart and search | Missed — the storefront is your own app | Sent from your storefront through /api/relay on your own domain |
Because the channel apps’ server-side purchase sync keeps running, the switch-over is still needed at go-live: one platform at a time, so purchases aren’t counted twice.
It seems like headless tracking has been priced as an enterprise extra. Aimerce lists it from $499 a month and Analyzify from $275. Littledata lists it on its $199 Scale plan, which includes 1,500 orders. Hydrogen tracking is included on every plan from $199 a month.
| App | Lowest plan that lists headless | Monthly price | Orders included | Over the allowance | Example: 2,000 orders / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Elevar | Not listed on a plan Plans: $225 / $650 / $1,250 | Not listed | Not listed | Docs describe a developer-built data layer | Not listed |

| Analyzify | Plus Tier 1 “Headless & Custom Storefronts” | $275/mo | 50,000 | next tier $375 for 100,000 orders | $275 |
| Littledata | Scale “Headless and Hydrogen support” | $199/mo | 1,500 | $0.15/order to 3,000, then $0.06 | $274 $199 + 500 × $0.15 |
| PixelRelay | Growth Hydrogen & headless storefronts included | $199/mo | 5,000 | $0.04/order | $199 |

At higher volume, read across the orders-included and overage columns. PixelRelay Pro is $499 with 25,000 orders ($0.03 per extra order); Agency is $999 with 100,000 orders pooled across 7 stores ($0.02 per extra order).
Nothing you’d notice. Hydrogen’s default content security policy blocks vendor tags silently — no console error, the tag just never loads. Server-side events keep arriving, so the gap usually goes unseen. pixelRelayCspDirectives() adds the entries PixelRelay needs to the policy in entry.server.tsx.
Each of these is a reasonable choice for someone. The question is what your store needs to send and who maintains it.
Your channel apps keep running until go-live. Install on a preview branch, run the verify command, and watch events arrive before you change anything.
Run npm install @pixelrelay/hydrogen. The client compiles into your storefront bundle.
Wrap the app in <PixelRelayProvider>, run npx pixelrelay-hydrogen install-route for /api/relay, and add pixelRelayCspDirectives() to your security policy.
Run npx pixelrelay-hydrogen-verify. It checks the route, token, shop binding and plan. Then switch over one platform at a time.

No. Hydrogen is on the published Growth, Pro and Agency plans. Install the app, choose Growth or above in Shopify, and start the 14-day free trial. If you’d rather we install it for you, that’s optional install help.
No. @pixelrelay/hydrogen is an npm package (MIT licence) that compiles into your storefront bundle. Events post to /api/relay on your own domain, and your server forwards them.
Hydrogen’s default content security policy blocks vendor tags silently. pixelRelayCspDirectives() adds the entries PixelRelay needs, as shown in the Hydrogen quickstart.
Yes, at go-live. On Hydrogen their pixels only run at checkout and on the thank-you page, but their server-side purchase sync keeps running. Leave them on until PixelRelay is delivering, then switch over one platform at a time so purchases aren’t counted twice.
