Connect Klaviyo

Send your store's shopping events to Klaviyo from our servers, so flows like abandoned cart still get them when an ad blocker stops Klaviyo's own script. You need a private API key and your Public API key (Site ID). Both are on the same Klaviyo page.

  1. 1. Create a private API key

    1. In Klaviyo, click your account name (bottom left) → Settings → API keys.
    2. Click Create Private API Key and name it PixelRelay.
    3. Choose Custom Key. Set Events to Full Access and Profiles to Read Access. Leave everything else on No Access.
    4. Click Create and copy the key. Klaviyo only shows it once.
  2. 2. Copy your Site ID

On the same API keys page, copy your Public API Key / Site ID. It's 6 characters, like ABC123.

  3. 3. Connect in PixelRelay

    1. In PixelRelay, go to Connections → Klaviyo → Connect.
    2. Paste the Private API key and the Public API key (Site ID). Both are required.
    3. Event naming: keep Standard Klaviyo metrics (recommended) so your existing flows and reports pick the events up.
    4. Using Klaviyo's Shopify app? Tick Klaviyo's native Shopify app is installed and keep Send a separate PixelRelay copy (recommended).
    5. Click Connect.

Saving doesn't start sending yet. Editing later? Leave Private API key blank to keep the saved one.

Turn off your old Klaviyo tracking

Keep Klaviyo's Shopify app installed. Set the native-app option above, and remove any old hand-pasted Klaviyo tracking code. Turn off old Klaviyo tracking walks through it.

Turn it on

In Guided setup → Switch & enable, work through Switch over Klaviyo, click Mark as done on each item, then click Enable Klaviyo tracking.

Check it's working

  • Browse your store with a test email, add something to your cart and start checkout.
  • In Klaviyo, open Analytics → Metrics and look for the events (allow a few minutes).
  • In PixelRelay, Reports → Event log shows each event and whether Klaviyo accepted it.
