Guided setup walks you through everything below. Nothing is sent to a platform until you turn it on in step 6, and your current tracking keeps running until then.
1. Install the app
Open PixelRelay on the Shopify App Store, click Install and approve the permissions. The app opens on Guided setup. Click Set up PixelRelay.
Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and come back.
2. Turn on the app embed
On Check your store, click Open theme editor. Switch on PixelRelay Pixel and click Save. Your store won't look any different.
3. Run the store check
Back in PixelRelay, click Create check link, then Open storefront. Leave that tab open until the page loads. PixelRelay confirms it's running and lists any tracking it finds, like a Meta pixel or Google Tag Manager.
Under Which of these apps do you use?, tick the ones you have so your switch-over checklist only shows what applies. Not sure? Pick I'm not sure.
4. Connect a platform
Tick the platforms you use, then click Connect and paste in your account details. Saving them doesn't turn anything on.

5. Choose a plan
Pick a plan and approve it in Shopify. See pricing to compare plans.
6. Switch over and turn it on
Do this in one sitting, and not in the middle of a big sale. Running old tracking and PixelRelay together can count sales twice, and a long gap between them can miss sales.
- For each item on the checklist, turn off the old tracking it names, or check that you don't use it.
- Click Mark as done.
- When every item is done, click Enable [platform] tracking right away.

7. Check your first event
Event status shows the latest event PixelRelay sent. Nothing yet? Browse your store (accept cookies if your banner asks) or wait for your next order.
Click View your events to open the full event log.
8. Add the checkout tag
In Connections, the Checkout tag row says Required. Click Set up · 2 min and follow the steps. You paste one snippet into Shopify under Settings → Customer events, then click Save and Connect. The row changes to Active once it's working.
Add more platforms
Click Set up another platform in Guided setup. You connect it, switch it over and turn it on the same way.
